Testing messages is part of the email campaign deployment process. During testing check the sender name and email, subject line and look out for broken links.

STEP 1

Click the "Test" button on the message editor page. 

Tip: Clicking the "Test" button automatically saves your message, no need to click "Save" first.

STEP 2

In the popup window enter a single email address to send the test message to or select a saved test filter.
A test filter can contain one or more email addresses - up to a maximum of 20 emails. The 20 email limit is in place to prevent sending tests accidentally to large lists.

STEP 3

Click the "Send test message(s)" button

STEP 4

Check your inbox for the test message. Test messages should arrive within a minute of clicking the "Send test message(s)" button.

The subject line of test messages start with "Test message from Envoke:" so you can easily tell test messages apart from live campaigns.

Errors with testing emails

Can't send a test message

All contacts - including test messsage recipients - must have provided consent to receive emails. If you have accidentally unsubscribed the email you are trying to send a test message to you can't send a test message to that contact. To fix this error you need to re-subscribe the contact by find the contact on the contact list page and updating its consent status.

Test messaging not appearing in your inbox

The test email is in the spam folder - please check.

If the email is not in your spam folder than it's likely blocked.

Sometimes mail servers will start blocking emails after multiple test messages are sent as it may be interpreted by servers as flooding or some type of spam as it's not natural to receive multiple messages with same or similar content from the same sender.

It's also possible that since you're sending an email from @yourdomain.com from email to another @yourdomain.com email address via a 3rd party service your mail server blocks the message. You should talk with your mail server admininstrator about lifting this block. A potential solution is setting up a custom sub-domain.
