The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a regulation for the privacy of individuals within the European Union (EU). It became effective on May 25, 2018. It applies to products or services delivered in the EU and how personal data is processed and/or monitored as a result.

Unlike CASL, which applies to Canadian contacts, the GDPR consent regime doesn't include an implied consent state. Contacts are stored as either having provided express consent or not provided consent.

New contacts

New EU contacts filling out forms are added to the database are inserted either with express consent state or as consent not provided.

You can update the consent status of existing contacts to "Express", "Not Provided" or "Implied - no expiry".
