The way you select email recipients has changed on September 10, 2024.

Previously, recipients were selected in a single step based on either a subscription, tag(s) or a segment.

The new way to select recipients includes two steps

Step 1: Select contacts based on their subscription.

Step 2: (Optional) Narrow selection based on tags or a segment.

This change improves subscriptions by ensuring your contacts are in control of the optional information they choose to receive and makes it possible to select recipients based on subscriptions and tags in a single step without having to create a custom segment.

It will also improve reporting and archiving tools, allowing you to better measure the impact of your email campaigns.

Examples to select recipients after the product update

β†’ Send emails to contacts base on a subscription:

Select the subscription in the first dropdown selector on the page. The "Narrow selection" step is optional.

β†’ Send emails to contacts based on one or more tags without subscriptions:

If you aren't sending an email to a specific subscription list, then select the "All contacts" option in the first dropdown selector on the Recipients tab of the email editor and choose one or more tags in the "Narrow selection" section below.

β†’ Send emails to contacts based on a segment:

If you aren't sending an email to a specific subscription list, then select the "All contacts" option in the first dropdown selector on the Recipients tab of the email editor and choose a segment in the "Narrow selection" section below.
